General terms and conditions of sale

Lumo Energia Oy complies with the recommended Terms of Electricity Sales (SME 2014) issued by Finnish Energy. The terms are available for viewing at the Finnish Energy website.

 

Invoicing period and method

Electricity is billed arrears on a monthly basis according to actual consumption. Billing every three months is an additional service with an additional fee of 1,90 €/month. Actual consumption is determined by the metering data of the distribution company. Actual consumption refers to the meter readings or hourly consumption readings provided by the local electric distribution company.

You can choose between receiving the invoice by email or letter. You can also sign an e-invoice agreement with your online bank once you have received your first invoice. Both options are free of charge. A corporate customer can receive the electricity bill by providing Lumo Energia with the OVT ID required to receive the purchase invoices.

The electricity transmission is billed by the local electric distribution company.

 

Checking the customer's solvency

We reserve the right to verify the customer’s credit information from Suomen Asiakastieto Oy. If the customer is found to have payment defaults, Lumo Energia reserves the right to demand a reasonable security before the contract is signed. No interest will be paid on the security. Lumo Energia also has the right to liquidate the security to cover any overdue electricity bills.

 

Concluding and terminating the contract

The customer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of information provided at the time of placing an order. If we at Lumo Energia suspect an error in the provided information, we will strive to contact you to rectify the error within the resources available.

Orders and contracts submitted via the internet are considered distance selling and are always subject to a right of withdrawal of 14 days without charge. Cancellation of the order must be notified to the seller in writing, either by email or by letter. The right of cancellation doesn’t apply in cases where the electricity supply has been initiated at the request of the customer before the 14 day cancellation period has expired.

The contract documents form the content of the sales contract. In the event of conflict in the content of the sales contract and its documents, the documents shall be applied in the following order of priority:

If Lumo Energia's electricity contract is delayed from entering into force due to your previous fixed-term electricity contract with another supplier, Lumo Energia has a 12-month authorization to execute the order.

Lumo Energia strives to meet the desired start date but is not responsible for any delay in delivery.

If the contract starts retroactively, your energy consumption will be invoiced at the market price for the period prior to the start of the contract.

Lumo Energia does not reimburse costs incurred by phone calls (local network rates) or time spent.

The fixed monthly price for apartments is restricted to normal domestic electricity consumption. Activities carried out in an apartment that result in increased electricity consumption are not considered normal domestic electricity consumption and will be billed in accordance with the pricing principles of the Market price contract.

Any additional information should be limited to information relevant to the order.

Any price changes will be notified to the customer at least 30 days in advance. However, the price can’t change during the fixed period.

Processing fee for powers of attorney: € 10.00

Initiated disconnection process, including possible reconnection: € 25.00

Documentation and research: € 60 /beginning 30 min.

Recovery of extra payment and adjustment of error execution: € 10

Payment notice fee: € 5

 

Special contract terms for the electricity contracts

MarkkinaPlus and Fiksu

Ongoing contracts, which are valid until further notice.

The notice period is 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

The electricity price varies on a monthly basis and is determined according to the variable purchase rate of electricity purchased on the NordPool electricity exchange market. Lumo Energia’s margin is 0,6076 cents/kWh and purchasing cost 0,5 cents/kWh.

 

Tuntispot

Ongoing contract, which is valid until further notice.

The notice period is 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

The hourly electricity rate is determined by the Nordic Nord Pool power exchange. In the Tuntispot contract, you pay the hourly spot price of electricity delivered in Finland according to your hourly usage, plus a margin for the electricity supplier.

The average value of the electricity price, which is stated on the invoice, is calculated by multiplying the energy consumption in your home for each hour during the billing period by the hourly price on Nord Pool, and then calculating the hourly values. To this average price is added our margin 0,2852 cents/kWh (incl. VAT 24 %). 

The hourly spot price for electricity is not specified on the invoice.

1-year Fixed term

Fixed term contract for 12 months.

You can’t terminate the fixed term contract during the contract period, except due to a move. Then the notice period is 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

When the contract expires, you can cancel it and then the notice period is also 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

The price is fixed during the entire length of the contract.

At the end of the contract period, you will receive an offer for the new contract period. If you don’t confirm the given offer, your contract will continue as an ongoing contract which is billed in accordance with the price list we provide. Ongoing contracts have a notice period of 14 days.

 

6-month Fixed term

Fixed term contract for 6 months.

You can’t terminate the fixed term contract during the contract period, except due to a move. Then the notice period is 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

When the contract expires, you can cancel it and then the notice period is also 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

The price is fixed during the entire length of the contract.

At the end of the contract period, you will receive an offer for the new contract period. If you don’t confirm the given offer, your contract will continue as an ongoing contract which is billed in accordance with the price list we provide. Ongoing contracts have a notice period of 14 days.

Tasaraha

Fixed term contract for 12 months.

You can’t terminate the fixed term contract during the contract period, except due to a move. Then the notice period is 14 days. The cancellation must be done on My pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service.

The price is fixed during the entire length of the contract.

When the contract expires, it is automatically renewed for a further period of 12 months. You have the right to change the contract type or electricity supplier before the beginning of the next fixed term.

If you wish to change your electricity supplier at the end of the fixed term, you must terminate your contract at My Pages or in writing via email or letter to our customer service. The notice period is 14 days.

If the contract price or other terms change during and before the renewal of the contract period, your will be notified by email 30 days before the start of the new contract period.

The contract for consumers includes the use of electricity at a fixed monthly price, which varies by consumption category. The contract is divided into four electric usage alternatives according to annual consumption. The package’s consumption limits are as follows:

  • S: 2 500 kWh/year
  • M: 4 000 kWh/year
  • L: 5 500 kWh/year
  • XL: 7 000 kWh/year

If the customer's electric consumption exceeds the package's annual consumption limit during the contract period, the customer will be charged according to the consumption at 6.99 cents/kWh in addition to the fixed monthly price.

The package can be switched to a higher-end package during the contract period (e.g. from S to M). However, the package cannot be switched to a lower-end package (e.g. from L to M) during the contract period.

If the billing period is shorter than a full month, a daily price will be calculated for the product based on the monthly price. For example, if the monthly price is € 30 and the month has 30 days, the daily price would be € 1.

On our web pages we have guidelines for which package suits which apartment. However, the size of the apartment does not exactly reflect the electricity consumption; the number of inhabitants and their consumption habits also affect the total annual consumption – so when choosing the package that suits you, first check your annual energy consumption on your electricity bill. It will help you find the best option for you.
